Updates from the Store

Hi everyone, On this page we will be updating on all things that we make to improve our shop, I hope you enjoy reading.

Hello there,
In 2022, I took on the task of designing our celebratory 50 year anniversary logo, Over the course of several months, I drew up designs, made templates out of MDF to best find what would look eye catching and unique, for our Logo, and keep in custom with our existing hording, eventually we settled on a deep mahogany wood stain with birch hand cut letter and numbers, with a uniquely designed 50 incorporating our logo. Initially it was going to be just one plaque, I had decided to get some special 50 year anniversary tape measure made to give out to customers during this period. While Jack was getting the plaque's image ready to be sent to the manufacture of our tape measures, he reversed the colour scheme, and brought to my attention to how well it looked when it was reversed, we commenced making a further 2 plaques on the reverse, which we fitted along our hording as well as above our front entrance door.

Hello,
So last year, we had an unfortunate accident, where our timber rack had collapsed, so we got started on rebuilding and improving a new timber rack.
From the photos in the slideshow, we have completely enclosed the exposed end of the timber rack with three bespoke sliding doors, whereby Jack had asked myself, if he could make a tribute to his mothers mum, who had passed away, who had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's, a Forget me not Flower, Then he asked could he also honour My parents with a Three leaf shamrock, which I was more than happy to agree too, and asked if he could also include a Poppy for the forget soldiers.
On the side of the newly built rack we have included a little greeting to all of you, which you can see in the slideshow or in person when you come to the shop, Myself and Jack spent weeks designing, cutting and finishing all by hand this greeting to you all.  Then I decided I would like to have a tree, to represent the different types of timber/wood, whereby Jack discussed with me, if it would be more elaborate to include the different types of timber stock we do, and spread it out along the tree and its branches, we spent weeks designing, cutting and finishing by Hand. We also made sure that we fitted LED Strip light so that it would light up along side our original hording, which funnily enough is a point of knowledge for all taxi drivers, just in case you didn't know that. I do hope you enjoy seeing these new features whenever you are passing.

Hello,

As of late you may have noticed that we have decided to try and
become a little more greener. Back in May 2024, Tony had been
looking at purchasing a new Electric trike. After many weeks of
searching, We were able to purchase an Electric Trike in June 2024
but at the time it wasn't ready to be showed off to the public, so
Tony took it upon himself to modify the trike to make it look more
aesthetically pleasing and eye catching to anyone who saw it, This included modifying the backbox by making and fitting new H frames to support the newly built roof rack, which also gives more protection to our rider from the elements, and putting the shops Logo upon the Trike on all sides, These logo where handmade out of Plywood, he then asked myself if I could create a Shamrock with a long root, that turned into a three pin plug, to signify that it was Zero Emission Vehicle solely powered by the driver and the battery assist, once again handmade from birch ply and thus our new greener delivery vehicle was finished.
Since the Trike has been finished, we have done well over 25 successful deliveries, causing us to drastically cut back on using our traditional motor vehicle significantly, thus hopefully helping reduce our Carbon footprint.

It Has become a little bit of a running gag at the shop now, since we keep the trike
outside on our forecourt, we have had over 15 people asking if they can buy the trike
and if it was for sale, which we find a little funny due to our Shop Name and logo
being  permanently attached.  We've even had an email from a company, asking where they could purchase something similar as it was so eye catching that you couldn't help but be drawn to stare as it passed you.

Hello!

I'm Pleased to announced that we successfully changed majority of our external lights to an External LED Strip light. Over the past years, we have constantly maintained our old fluorescent light fittings, but we decided it was time for a change. Now that we have switched out over 40ft of fluorescent light fittings, and switched over to one 24m LED Strip light, one 10m LED Strip light and one 5m LED strip light, it has allowed us to reduce our Carbon Footprint further and become more environmentally friendly, as switching over to LEDs, are more energy efficient and  up to 80% more effective then Fluorescent bulbs, allowing 95% of the energy to go into the light that is produced, with only 5% being wasted as heat.

Hello!

We at KTS are pleased to announce that we have finally completed more changes, that will lower our Carbon Footprint even more. In the later part of December 2024, we made the decision to purchase a a 4 wheel EAV quad bike, and as you know we like to customize. Thus Tony got to work on modify and customizing out EAV, This included removing the existing side door, packing the hole and filling it, and creating a new back door to EAV, which was created with polycarbonate sheeting and a bespoke metal trim, then making using of a vinyl fablon wrap to give the EAV a greyish wood effect, then with a more heavy duty vinyl fablon, colour being of a dark green texture wood, along with a Pine vinyl fablon, we created bespoke KTS The Corner signs, three leaf shamrocks with a plug, to indicate the ECO vehicle and a new sign that brandish a four leaf shamrock,  two three leaf shamrocks growing from a bed of grass, with our message proudly stating 'Cleaner air 4 Hackney', Tony also built and fitted new H-Frame's too support the newly built roof rack, which would also to still be able to deliver large sheets.  We also decided that in turn with trying to become more eco-friendly, to get rid of our old Red Mitsubishi L200 Truck,  which we sold in January 2025.

Also just like our Eco Trike, it has become another gag that people are query how much for the EAV, even though once again the vehicle has our logo plastered all over it!
